Money Line: -126.00 Washington (Away)
Result: Loss
Play: Washington Nationals
Rating: 10*

The Washington Nationals are red hot going 9-3 so far in the month of August. They'll visit the reeling Colorado Rockies (1-8 last nine games) for the second game of a three-game set Tuesday night and this should be a one-sided affair in favor of the Nats.

Washington has won seven of the past nine meetings at Coors (last night's 5-4 win included) and it hands the ball to the reliable Gio Gonzalez (8-9, 4.24 ERA) tonight. Gonzalez is 4-2 with a 3.00 ERA in his past seven starts, all while limiting opposing hitters to a .221 batting average. He's 2-0 with a 3.75 ERA in two career starts against the Rockies.

Colorado turns to Chad Bettis (10-6, 5.27). The Rockies have won six of his last seven starts, but the right-hander was far from sharp his last time out when he surrendered five runs on nine hits and three walks in just five innings at Texas. We can note that the Rockies are 2-5 in Bettis' last seven home starts vs. a team with a winning record.

Keep an eye on the Nats' Jayson Werth who tied the Nationals record of reaching base in 43 straight games in yesterday's 5-4 victory here in Colorado as he finished 2-for-4 with a two-run and a walk.
