This is a 10* O/U EAST COAST EXPRESS on the UNDER between the New York Islanders and the New York Rangers.
Both of these teams have played to some pretty high-scoring affairs to start the year, but I now think the conditions are finally right for a lower-scoring, grind it out battle and will look for this total to sneak below the posted number once the final whistle sounds. New York is 1-2, it's been outscored 11-5 in two straight losses, most recently a listless 6-3 setback to the Leafs on Sunday. The usually unflappable Henrik Lundqvist let in five of those goals, but a date vs. the Isles is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked, he's a sparkling 8-1-0 with a 1.42 GAA and two shutouts in his last nine vs. his cross town rival. The Isles swept a home and home set from Carolina, Saturday's 4-3 victory marked their first win in a home opener in six years; there's no question that this sets up as a letdown spot. The Isles will go with Jaroslav Halak, who is 4-1-0 with a tiny 1.40 GAA in five starts vs. the Rags. A great situational play in my opinion, all signs point to the UNDER as the sharp wager in this one.
