The Chargers will not start Justin Herbert in this final preseason game. It will be the Easton Stick show once again, and although he performed well last week, the 49ers are a much stingier defense.
The 49ers will be playing starters, as Trey Lance and Sam Darnold are in a battle for the backup quarterback job and Darnold has looks great so far, and they are much more established players in the NFL.
Brock Purdy may play the first few series, so trust the 49ers to come out hot with an early lead and not look back. Chargers are just 2-6 under HC Staley with the two wins vs the Rams who care the least about the preseason.
