This afternoon Gerrit Cole takes his MLB best ERA and xFIP into this interleague event against the Brewers with a club-record 15 double-digit K outings. Cole is coming off a 14-strikeout outing against the Rays on Wednesday.

For the 15th time in 27 appearances the Houston righty has punched out at least 10 batters, establishing a new franchise record.

Cole's 2.75 ERA, 2.77 xFIP, and 13.09 K/9 across 26 starts are sick-good. The Brewers hitters strike out a lot so this lines up nicely for us.


Milwaukee starts pitcher Adrian Houser who has a 2-2 mark with a 2.83 ERA and has held the opposition to a mere.208 batting average against when pitching in Miller Park. I think the UNDER is the play here on Labor Day Monday.
