The WhiteSox starting pitcher Lopez made eight starts as part of the White Sox rotation in 17 after making 22 starts for Triple-A Charlotte. Lopez fanned 131 in 121 innings for the Knights, but struck out 30 over 47 2/3 innings.
The hard-throwing 24-year-old is undefeated against the Royals posting a 2-0 record with a 3.44 ERA in three starts while covering a total of 18 1/3 innings.

KC starter Hammel was 8-13 with a 5.29 ERA following some decent seasons with the Cubs. Also, Hammel was 0-3 with a 6.65 ERA in April when opposing hitters batted .319 against him.
KC catcher Salvador Perez is on the disabled list, and that is a big loss for the Royals and Chicago now has won five of the last six meetings dating to last season. I'm backing the White Sox on Sunday.
