Sonny Gray has been great for the A's this season, posting a 4-1 record and 1.61 ERA. He also has an amazing WHIP of just 0.93. Gray lost his first game of the season his last time out, despite holding Boston to just three hits and one run. Unfortunately, the A's got him zero run support. Gray has held opponents to two runs or fewer in seven of his eight starts. The Astros are free swingers and this should benefit the A's and their pitching.
Roberto Hernandez is just 1-3 for the Astros with a 4.12 ERA. Hernandez has allowed 11 earned runs over his last 20 innings. He's also allowed more walks than strikeouts during those innings. Big difference here in starters and I really like Gray and the A's in this spot.
