Fresno State and up-tempo, spread attack has at times struggled this season minus some serious firepower that departed after last season. Junior Brian Burrell has started all seven games at quarterback, though his position hasn't been the sturdiest.

Senior Josh Harper is by far Burrell top target with 47 catches and 637 yards which is 29 more catches and 423 more yards than anyone else on the roster. But the strong pass defense of Boise can focus on stopping him. They hold teams to .5 yards per pass below their normal average and a fantastic 1.1 yards per rushing attempt below.

On the other hand the Bulldogs have struggled against the pass, ranking 123rd (out of 125) in pass efficiency defense. Opponents have thrown 19 TDs to four interceptions for 1,805 yards, completing 60.3 percent of their passes.

They allow 9.3 yards per pass versus teams normally getting 7.3. Fresno cannot run with Kurt Scoby, Dontel James, and Malique Micernheimer out with injuries. Rested Boise will destroy them.
