The many clients who have been with us since the 1980s know that even back then we told you the once-Gospel bet on the MNF home underdog was the square version of a sharper system.

Bad teams were always go-against plays as MNF underdogs. MNF pups with a winning percentage under .400 are only 38-54. While not statistically jaw dropping it has long been the caveat even when betting on home underdogs on MNF seemed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

It took tight end Rob Gronkowski five games last season before he was playing every snap once he returned from his injured forearm. This year, Gronkowski has been used on a part-time basis as he comes back from his torn ACL :38 snaps in the season opener, 28 snaps in Week 2 against Minnesota, and 42 snaps last week against Oakland. Gronkowski said this week that he is ready to start rolling more, and his expected rising playing time should have a significant trickle-down effect on the offense, because outside of Julian Edelman, there has not been much consistency.

The Chiefs beat a very erratic Miami team last week for their only win, but are not a very good team. Look for Gronk to have his biggest game yet and bad MNF home dogs continue to struggle.
