Miss State is in a bubble burst angle in which fading teams off of their first loss is 122-77. But it is also a classic sandwich game. They are playing at home to the worst team in the conference in between road games at Alabama and Egg Bowl rival Ole Miss in what will be possibly the biggest Egg Bowl ever. Much like Thursday night in which Kansas City had lowly Oakland sandwiched in between Seattle and Denver, this game is pretty much the same thing. MSU is playing a doormat in between two of the bigger games in the history of the school.

Miss State will go to the playoffs if they run the table. There is zero need for style points and plenty of reason in this trap game to want to simply escape.
