Two classic "Original Six" NHL teams will square up tonight as the Toronto Maple Leafs are welcoming the Boston Bruins to Air Canada Centre. The visitors are coming off five consecutive wins, of which four were home in Boston. I think they will come up short on the road tonight against a Maple Leafs team that is looking to build on a two game winning streak themselves.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Situational/Motivational - Coming off an extended winning streak sure is nice, but there's also a risk of complacency sneaking into the team. Especially tonight as the Bruins have dominated the Leafs over recent seasons, winning eight of the last 11 meetings in Toronto. I think enough will be enough here, and that he home team will come into this contest very motivated to break that dominance.
2. Home Cookin' - The Maple Leafs failed to reach the playoffs last season, but it was not because they didn't get the job done at home. Their 24-16-1 home record was among the best in the East, and they are currently riding a three game winning streak in Toronto.
3. X-factor - Expect to see James Reimer tend the goal for Toronto tonight. The 26 year old has a 1.75 GAA in his last six games against the Bruins.
Selection: This is a play on the Toronto Maple Leafs (10*)
