At 6:07pm ET, my Metro Div. Game Of the Month is on Philadelphia. This looks like 2 teams trending in opposite directions. The Capitals are 3-1 and the Flyers are 1-4. That doesn't really tell the whole story though. The Flyers first 4 games were all on the West Coast. They got one win and lost another in OT, so 3 points. Then their first and only home game was against the team they defeated on the road trip. So, they've had a difficult schedule to start the season with 5 games against Western Conference opponents, 4 of those coming on the road and the other being a first game home situation against a team playing with revenge. The Capitals have played 3 of their 4 at home and their only road game was a situation where they played with revenge. Now the Flyers finally get an Eastern Conf. opponent. They are going to really want that first home win for the Philly faithful. They also want to beat Washington after the Capitals beat them to kill their playoff hopes last season. Teams play again tomorrow in Washington which makes it even more critical for the Flyers to win tonight. Defenseman Nick Seeler is expected to make his season debut for the Flyers.
