Quantrill has been as good as anyone this month with a 1.20 ERA over five starts while pitching into the 6th on average. His opponent, lefty Wentz lost to the Guardians the last time he faced them, allowing 4 runs over 5 innings. Wentz has had very short and very average starts lately. The Guardians have struggled with the bats at times this season, but are hitting well in the last two weeks with an OPS of .771, good for eighth in the league and 60 points higher than the Tigers’ OPS. The Guardians’ bullpen has also been a disappointment at times this season, but has been effective recently. The Tigers’ dominance of the Guardians ends on Friday. Look for Cleveland to build up a lead in the early going and hold on for a road win.
