Rogers' 10* NFL Game of the Week >> Bills over Rams Last Week!
(NFL) Atlanta vs. Seattle,
Point Spread: -6.00 | -115.00 Seattle (Home)
Result: Loss
The set-up: Dan Quinn's first season as the Falcons' head coach saw Atlanta open the year 5-0 but the Falcons finished 3-8 to go 8-8. The Falcons lost 31-24 at home to the Tampa Bay Bucs in Week 1 of the 2016 season but they have followed with FOUR straight wins, the last two being 48-33 at home over the defending NFC champion Panthers and last Sunday's 23-16 win in Denver over the defending Super Bowl champion Broncos. The 4-1 Falcons travel to Seattle on Sunday to take on the 3-1 Seahawks. Seattle opened the 2016 season with a 12-10 squeaker at home against Miami, then lost 9-3 in Week 2 at the LA Rams. However, Seattle has rebounded with a 37-18 home win over the 49ers and a 27-17 win at the NY Jets.

Atlanta: Atlanta leads the NFL in total offense (457.4 PPG), the only team averaging 400-plus yards. Ryan has more passing yards (1,740) than any QB and has completed 69.0 percent with 12 TDs and 2 INTs (he owns an NFL-best 121.6 QB rating). The running game ranks 7th at 124.0 YPG on 4.5 YPC. The Falcons leads the NFL averaging 35.0 PPG. Defense is a concern, as Atlanta is allowing 28.0 PPG to rank 27th. Consider the following. Not only did Atlanta hand Denver its first loss last week, it came on the heels of the team beating the Carolina Panthers the previous week. That makes the Falcons just the third team in NFL history to post back-to-back wins over the two teams who appeared in the previous season's Super Bowl!

Seattle: After managing only one TD in splitting its first two games of the season, Seattle has rebounded to put up 64 points in back-to-back victories. Wilson has played through a sprained knee to complete 65.4% for an average of 238.3 YPG passing with 5 TDs and just 1 interception (99.3 QB rating). Wilson threw for 309 yards and three TDs against the Jets and says he feels great following the additional rest. Meanwhile, RB Christine Michael continues to carry the running game in place of an injured Thomas Rawls and the retired Marshawn Lynch. He has 290 yards rushing on 4.6 YPC with two TDs plus 12 catches and one TD. Then there is the Seattle defense, which has led the league in points allowed for four consecutive seasons. Seattle ranks No. 1 in yards allowed (264.0 YPG) and only Minnesota (12.6) Philadelphia (12.8) are allowing fewer points than Seattle's 13.5 PPG.

The pick: Could there be a more brutal back-to-back two-game road trip than to play at Denver and then at Seattle? The Seahawks are 29-5 SU at home in the regular season since Russell Wilson took over as the team's starting QB and Dan Quinn's ‘homecoming' (he was Settle's DC before taking the Atlanta head coaching gig) will not go well. Seattle is a 10* play.
