The Vancouver Canucks have kicked off a seven-game road-trip with back-to-back losses at Buffalo and New Jersey. They've allowed way too many goals of late and I think we'll see them put more focus on the defensive side of the game tonight. The Blue Jackets are among the worst teams in the league for goals scored and we should see a low-scoring game at Nationwide Arena.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. John Tortorella - The current Blue Jackets coach led the Canucks during their disastrous 2013-14 season. He must still have a good grip of the players and how to shut them down.

2. Special Teams - The Canucks rank in the bottom-third for power play goals but they're the sixth most effective team in shorthanded situations with an 85.7% success rate on the penalty kill. Columbus is just 4-for-34 on the power play over its last 10 games.

3. X-Factor - Radim Vrbata, who led Vancouver with 31 goals a season ago, is goal-less over his last five contests.
