The Carolina Hurricanes have just two wins to their name this season and were shut out in a 3-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings last night. Another defeat is in the cards as they stay in California to dive into the Shark Tank to face the San Jose Sharks here the very next day.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Carolina's Scoring Woes - The Canes opened a seven-game road trek with a 5-3 win at Detroit but have struggled to find the net ever since. Games against Washington, Colorado and Los Angeles have resulted in just two goals scored while going 0-for-13 on the power play.

2. Fatigue - Carolina will play its third game in four nights Saturday, a situation where its 2-8 over its last 10. It has lost 50 of its last 71 games playing on back-to-back nights.

3. X-Factor - San Jose has won four of its first seven games this season despite playing in front of the home-town crowd only twice. Expect the players to be looking to redeem themselves after a 4-1 home loss to local rivals the Kings Thursday.
