Money Line: -127.00 Cleveland (Away)
Result: Loss
Money Line: -127.00 Cleveland (Away)
Result: Loss
Both the Indians and the Twins are till alive in the Wild Card race, and Cleveland will take on Minnesota in Game 2 of a three game set at Target Field Wednesday. The Twins took Game 1, but I like the Indians to draw even here with their ace on the mound tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Indians hand the ball to Corey Kluber, who has owned the Twins in 2015. Kluber (8-14, 3.44 ERA) gave up three runs on five hits over just four innings in a home loss to Kansas City in his last start. He's 2-0 with a 2.30 ERA in two starts versus Minnesota. The Twins counter with Phil Hughes, who is coming off four straight losses. He's 1-2 with an 8.44 ERA in three starts versus the Indians this year.
2. Batter vs. Pitcher - The Twins lineup is batting a combined .195 with 75 strikeouts over 236 at bats versus Kluber. Brian Dozier is 3-for-28 with nine strikeouts lifetime versus Kluber.
3. X-Factor - The Indians are an American League best 16-8 since August 25.
Selection: This is a play on the Cleveland Indians (10*)
