1* free play on the Milwaukee Brewers...
The Milwaukee Brewers had a four-game winning streak snapped last night when they suffered a 7-5 setback against the Tribe. I like them to bounce back with a "W" tonight when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks for the opener of a four-game set.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The D'backs will hand the ball to Zack Godley who'll make his first start ever in the major leagues. He's been recalled to replace injured Chase Anderson but has been less than convincing with Double-A Mobile lately going 1-1 with a 5.14 ERA in three starts. The Brew Crew will counter with Mike Fiers (5-7, 3.79 ERA) who's 2-0 with a 2.18 ERA in his last five starts. He's 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA in two career starts against Arizona, but only four members of the current D'backs team have any experience against him.
2. Situational - The Brewers have won five straight with Fiers on the mound while the D'backs have lost six of their last seven when facing a right-handed starter.
3. X-Factor - Gerrardo Parra is no fire for the Brewers, going 8-for-19 over a five-game hitting streak and he's batting .390 over his last 28 games.
