The Coach's MLB Late Show S-P-E-C-I-A-L
(MLB) Houston vs. LA Angels,
Money Line: -114.00 LA Angels (Home)
Result: Loss
Money Line: -114.00 LA Angels (Home)
Result: Loss
The Astros lost the series opener in Anaheim last night, and they will have their work cut out for them here in Game 2 tonight. The Angels are 4.5 games back in the standings, but they've been good at home lately, and look good with a veteran pitcher on the mound tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - C.J. Wilson will get the nod for the Halos, and he's coming off a couple of solid performances. Wilson (5-5, 3.39 ERA) gave up a single run on eight hits, striking out nine in eight innings in a 7-1 win over Arizona in his most recent start. He tossed seven innings of shutout ball, surrendering just two hits in a home win over the A's before that. The Astros counter with Collin McHugh, who has not been sharp in recent outings.
2. Albert Pujols - The Angels slugger hit two home runs last night, and he now has an American League best 23 on the season. He's hitting .303 with a home run and three RBIs lifetime versus McHugh.
3. X-Factor - Houston has lost 10 of it's last 13 on the road.
Selection: This is a play on the Los Angeles Angels (10*)
