The San Francisco Giants can complete a sweep of the Dodgers at Chavez Ravine tonight, and the Dodgers have lost five of their last six. Still LA is a big favorite at home tonight, and I like the Giants as an underdog on the runline.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Giants will send Tim Lincecum to the mound, and he's having a solid season just a year after losing his spot in the rotation. Lincecum (7-3, 3.31 ERA) gave up just two runs on five hits over 5.2 innings in a home win over Seattle his last time out. He's had success against the Dodgers, going 2-1 with a 2.65 ERA in three previous meetings this season. The Dodgers counter with Brett Anderson, who is win-less in his last seven starts.
2. Batter vs. Pitcher - The Giants are hitting a combined .329 in previous meetings with Anderson, and Brandon Crawford is 5-for-6 versus the southpaw.
3. X-Factor - The Giants are 9-3 in Lincecums last 12 starts vs. the Dodgers.
Selection: This is a play on the San Francisco Giants +1.5 (8*)
