The Houston Astros are on fire again, coming into tonight's game in Seattle as winners of six of seven. Two of those victories were against the Mariners, and both of those were shutouts. The Mariners failed to score again last night, losing to San Francisco 7-0. I don't like Seattle's chances against this hot Houston team tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Astros will send southpaw Lance McCullers to the mound, and he dominated the Mariners in his last start. McCullers (3-1, 2.00 ERA) tossed five scoreless innings, allowing no hits and four walks in a 13-0 win in Houston. The Mariners counter with Roenis Elias, who was on the losing side of that game. Elias (3-4, 3.67 ERA) gave up eight runs on seven hits and four walks in just 3.1 innings.
2. Seattle Bats - The Mariners have scored the fewest runs of any team in the American League, and they are batting a major league worst .233.
3. X-Factor - George Springer comes in swinging a hot bat, hitting .468 during and 11 game hit streak.
Selection: This is a play on the Houston Astros (10*)
