The Coach's MLB SURE SHOT @ Wrigley
(MLB) Cleveland vs. Chi Cubs,
Money Line: -130.00 Chi Cubs (Home)
Result: Loss
Money Line: -130.00 Chi Cubs (Home)
Result: Loss
The Chicago Cubs took three of four in a home series versus Cincinnati over the weekend, and they host the Cleveland Indians at Wrigley tonight. Cleveland is coming off a loss to Detroit yesterday, and it has lost five of it's last seven overall. This looks like another favorable match-up for the Cubs.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - Jake Arrieta will be on the hill for the home team, and he's been sharp at Wrigley. Arrieta (6-4, 3.16 ERA) gave up three runs on eight hits over six innings in a win at Detroit in his last outing. He's just 2-3 with a 2.88 ERA in six starts at home this season, but he was 6-1 with a 1.46 ERA in a dozen starts at Wrigley last season. The Indians will counter with Trevor Bauer, who has really struggled with his command in recent outings. He's walked a dozen over 17.1 innings in his last three starts.
2. Kris Bryant - The Cubs rookie is hitting .372 during an 11 game hitting streak, and he's hit safely in 24 of his last 27, recording six homers, two triples and seven doubles during that span.
3. X-Factor - The Indians have a long history of struggling in inter-league games, going 19-47 in their last 66 road games versus the National League.
Selection: This is a play on the Chicago Cubs (10*)
