The Coach's 10* MLB "ACE OFF" - Kluber vs. Simon
(MLB) Cleveland vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -132.00 Cleveland (Away)
Result: Loss
Money Line: -132.00 Cleveland (Away)
Result: Loss
The Cleveland Indians have split the first two games of this series in Detroit, and they will be the favorite here in the rubber match at Comerica Park. I think the Tigers are likely to struggle against Cleveland's ace, and my money is on the visitors.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Indians hand the ball to Corey Kluber, who won the Cy Young Award in 2014. Kluber (3-7, 3.53 ERA) gave up a pair of runs on seven hits over seven frames in a no decision versus Seattle in his latest outing. He went 8.2 innings, giving up a pair of runs on seven hits with 10 Ks in a victory the last time he pitched at Comerica Park. The Tigers counter with Alfredo Simon, who has walked seven and allowed eight runs on nine hits over his last two starts.
2. Michael Brantley - Cleveland's slugger has owned Simon in previous meetings, going 10-for-15 with four doubles and seven RBIs.
3. X-Factor - The Indians have won nine of their last 12 road games, while Detroit has dropped seven of nine at home.
Selection: This is a play on the Cleveland Indians (10*)
