1* free play on the Baltimore Orioles...
The Boston Red Sox sit dead last in the AL East, and they were shutout in Baltimore last night. It won't get any easier here at Camden Yards tonight, with the Orioles sending a sizzlin' southpaw to the mound. I like the home team here in this nationally televised broadcast.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Orioles hand the ball to Wei Yin Chen, who has pitched so much better than his record would indicate. Chen (1-4, 3.18 ERA) gave up a pair of runs on five hits while striking out nine in 6.1 innings, not factoring in the decision in a 3-2 win at Houston in his last appearance. He's 5-3 with a 4.24 ERA in 11 starts versus Boston since 2012. The Red Sox will counter with Rick Porcello, who has already been roughed up twice by Baltimore this season.
2. Batter vs. Pitcher - The Orioles lineup his hitting .318 versus Porcello, and Chris Davis has homered three times in 23 at bats versus the right-hander.
3. X-Factor - The Orioles are 4-1 in Chen's last 5 home starts vs. Red Sox, and Boston has lost seven of it's last eight road games.
