The Houston Rockets looked like they were down and out in their second round series versus the Clippers, down 3-1 after the first four games. They battled back to force a Game 7 at home, and even then they were considered an underdog on their own court. This team simply isn't getting enough respect from fans or from the bookmakers, and I am all over this inflated line here in Game 1.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - The Warriors are a double-digit home favorite, but they've only covered the spread twice in their last eight games. There are those who expect a let down from the Rockets after a big win in Game 7, but they've covered five straight when coming off a double-digit win.
2. James Harden - He led all scorers with 31 points in the Rockets Game 7 victory over the Clippers, and he's averaged 33.5 points in two games at Oracle Arena this season. "We're a new team," Harden said. "It's a new series."
3, X-Factor - The Rockets are not known for their defense, but they've really stepped up their efforts in Games 6 and 7 versus the Clippers. Dwight Howard pulled down 36 rebounds in those two games.
Selection: This is a play on the Houston Rockets (10*)
