Money Line: -153.00 Chi White Sox (Away)
Result: Loss
The Chicago White Sox have to be happy to get out of Baltimore, coming off a three game series that saw the first two games suspended due to rioting. They finally played yesterday in an empty stadium closed off to fans, but lost by a score of 8-2. They might be able to get back on track with their ace on the mound tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - Chris Sale will be on the mound for the Sox, and he's coming off another solid performance. Sale (2-0, 2.37 ERA) allowed just a pair of runs over seven innings in a no decision against Kansas City his last time out. He was 2-0 with a 2.95 ERA in three starts versus Minnesota last year. The Twins counter with Trevor May, who was forced out of his last start with an elbow injury after pitching just 3.1 innings.
2. Minnesota Bullpen - The Twins opened up a big lead on the Tigers in yesterday's game, but the bullpen gave up seven runs in the final four frames. Minnesota's relief pitchers have a collective ERA of 4.32, won of the worst in the majors.
3. X-Factor - May didn't have much success pitching in Minnesota last season, with a home record of 1-3 with an 8.24 ERA)
Selection: This is a play on the Chicago White Sox (8*)
