Paul Pierce told reporters before Game 1 that Toronto doesn't have what it takes to be a contender in the playoffs. He backed up his big talk in Game 1, scoring 20 points while leading the Wizards to a victory. The 37 year old Pierce isn't likely going to be able to keep it up throughout the series, and I look for the younger Raptors to get back on track at home in Game 2.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - The Raptors had dominated this series prior to the Game 1 loss, winning all three meetings this season, and eight of the last 10 overall. Going back even further, the Wizards have covered the spread in just six of their last 19 versus Toronto.
2. Kyle Lowry - The Raptors PG missed time due to injury at the end of the regular season, but he appeared to be healthy heading into the playoffs as he scored 26 points in a win over Charlotte on the final day of the season. Lowry appeared to let his nerves get the best of him in Game 1, scoring just seven points on 2-of-10 shooting. Expect him to deliver a much better performance tonight.
3. X-Factor - The Raptors lost Game 1 of last year's first round series versus Brooklyn, and then came back and won Game 2 by a score of 100-95. That should give them confidence that they can do it again here tonight against the Wizards.
Selection: This is a play on the Toronto Raptors(10*)
