"The Coach's" NHL SURE SHOT
(NHL) Carolina vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -244.00 Detroit (Home)
Result: Win

Result: Win
The Detroit Red Wings seemed to see the month of March as a write-off as they won only five of their 15 games and have now won only one of their two so far this month. Their spot in the playoffs is now in serious jeopardy as they've dropped to eighth in the East, only two points above the Sens in ninth and they need to get back to business ASAP. A meeting with the Carolina Hurricanes in their own building should provide a good opportunity of doing just that, and I have no problem paying high juice on the Red Wings in this match-up.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. The Ever Struggling Carolina - The Canes managed to lose to a league-worst Buffalo Sabres team that hardly even made an effort to win last night as they opened a three game road swing with a 4-3 loss at First Niagara Center. They won the shots 52-25, but sub-par goaltending from Cam Ward once again became their fall. Detroit has given up just over 25 shots per game over its last three games, so goalscoring opportunities won't come as easy tonight.
2. Road Woes - Carolina has won only one of the last eight meetings in Detroit and is coming into this contest as losers of its last four on the road overall. It has managed only six goals over those games, and will be up against a Detroit defense that has given up only 2.32 goals per game on the season at Joe Louis Arena.
3. X-Factor - Tomas Tatar is leading the Red Wings with his 28 goals on the season and tallied two in the 3-1 win against the Canes earlier in the season.
Selection: This is a play on the Detroit Red Wings .(6*)
