The Coach's Friday NBA Trifecta
(NBA) LA Clippers vs. Memphis,
Point Spread: -5.00 | -105.00 Memphis (Home)
Result: Loss
Point Spread: -5.00 | -105.00 Memphis (Home)
Result: Loss
The Memphis Grizzlies may have run out of gas at the end of a successful road trip, losing 102-90 to the Kings on Wednesday. They had won back-to-back games at L.A. and Portland prior to that, and they are back home to host the Clippers tonight. I'll take the Grizz at home as a small favorite.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Home Cookin' - The Grizzlies have been dominant at home, boasting a record of 23-5 in Memphis. They've owned the Clippers, winning eight of the last nine meetings overall, five of those wins coming at home. They have covered the spread in nine of the last 10 in this series.
2. Defense - The Clippers scored just 19 points in the fourth quarter in their home loss to Memphis on Monday, and that's not a surprise considering the Grizzlies lead the league in opponent's scoring average.
3. X-Factor - Blake Griffin remains sidelined as he recover from elbow surgery. The Clippers won four of their first five without him, but have since suffered consecutive defeats.
Selection: This is a play on the Memphis Grizzlies (10*)
