The Coach's Free Play
(NHL) Boston vs. Calgary,
Money Line: -132.00 Boston (Away)
Result: Loss
The Bruins have lost three straight, and they still sit in the eighth and final playoff spot in the East, just three points clear of ninth place Florida. They are on the road at Calgary tonight, and the Flames are in a similar situation, sitting in the eighth spot in the West, two points clear of the surging Minnesota Wild. We should see a hard fought game of hockey at the Saddledome tonight, but my money is on the visitors.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Previous History - The Bruins have owned the Flames in recent seasons, winning five straight meetings in this series. Two of those victories came in Calgary. The Flames have also lost eight of their last nine versus Eastern Conference teams.

2. Tuukka Rask - The Bruins goaltender surrendered four goals on 24 shots in a 5-2 loss to the Canucks on Friday, but prior to that he hadn't allowed more than three goals in 24 starts. We should expect the perennial Vezina candidate to bounce back with a better effort tonight.

3. X-Factor - Patrice Bergeron has been hot lately, with five goals in his last seven games. He leads the Bruins in scoring with 16 goals this season.
