The Coach's TEN STAR NHL Total DOMINATION
(NHL) Philadelphia vs. Columbus,
Total: 5.50 | -105.00 Over
Result: Loss
The Columbus Blue Jackets sit 14 points back of the Boston Bruins who currently own the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. With their star netminder on the shelf for the foreseeable future, there isn't much hope that they can get back in the race. They host the Flyers tonight, and Philly still has a little life, sitting five points clear of Columbus. Both teams rank in the bottom half of the league in scoring, and we might not see a lot of offense here in tonight's contest.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Ray Emery - The Flyers backup goaltender stood on his head in Montreal on Tuesday, stopping 39-of-41 shots in a 2-1 overtime loss. His previous start was actually quite similar, as he stopped 35 shots in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Penguins. With Mason sidelined by injury, we should see Emery back between the pipes tonight.

2. Previous History - The Flyers have had two days of R&R since the loss to Montreal, and they've played seven straight unders when coming off two days of rest.

3. X-Factor - Curtis McElhinney is no Sergei Bobrovsky, evidenced by a 4-3 loss to the Kings Tuesday in which he surrendered four goals on 44 shots. He had won back-to-back games allowing a total of just two goals prior to that however.

Selection: This is a play on the Flyers@Jackets to go UNDER the total (10*)
