The Texas Rangers opened the week with a 5-1 loss to the Padres, but they won the following three of the four-game home-and-home series. Tonight they hand the ball to Andrew Cashner (0-3, 2.63 ERA) who has pitched better than his record would suggest. The 30 year old right-hander has conceded two earned runs or fewer in four of his five starts this season, and he held the Mariners to one run through six innings his last time out. The A's hand the ball to Jesse Hahn (1-2, 3.03 ERA) who is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in two games against the Rangers this season, but Texas is playing much better ball now.

The Athletics are 1-6 in Hahn's last seven road starts, 2-8 in their last 10 road games overall and 2-7 in their last nine games following an off day. The Rangers are 9-4 in their last 13 home games and 8-3 in their last 11 Friday games.
