Top Rated 10* NLCS *BIG HITTER*
Play: Chicago Cubs
Rating: 10*
The Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers opened the NLCS by splitting a couple of games at Wrigley Field. I like the Cubs to steal back home-field advantage with a win Monday night as the teams travel to LA for the next three games.
Jake Arrieta takes the ball for the Cubs. He held the Giants to a pair of runs in six innings in a no-decision at San Francisco in the NLDS. Arrieta was 11-3 in 15 road starts during the regular season and the Cubs are 14-5 in his last 19 road starts vs. a team with a winning record. He last took on the Dodgers on May 31 when he struck out eight through seven scoreless innings of two-hit ball.
The Dodgers turn to left-hander Rich Hill who lasted just seven total innings over two starts against Washington in the NLDS, surrendering five runs on nine hits and four walks in the process. He did not face the Cubs during the regular season.
Dodgers are 1-4 in Hills last five starts and the team is 2-6 in its last eight games following an off day. Cubs meanwhile are 20-7 in their last 27 games following an off day and they'll be hungry for revenge after getting shut out in Sunday's 1-0 defeat. This Dodgers team is not all that much (Kershaw excluded), and this is a terrific price on the superior Cubs.
