The Cincinnati Reds were shut out in a 4-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers yesterday. They're 11-2 in their last 13 games following a loss, and I like the Reds to claim this series Monday afternoon.
Homer Bailey (2-1, 3.66) will toe the slab for Cincy. He'll make his fifth start of the season. He's recorded 27 Ks in 19 2/3 innings in those games and he's 4-3 behind a 3.84 ERA in nine career meetings with the Dodgers.
Los Angeles turns to left-hander Scott Kazmir (10-6, 4.41 ERA) who has posted a bloated 4.77 ERA on the road this season. He's won both his previous meetings with the Reds but Cincy should come out well motivated after yesterday's shutout.
The Reds have gone 21-13 since the All-Star break, and I like them to get back to their winning ways Monday afternoon.
