Rating: 10*

The Cleveland Indians defeated the Washington Nationals 3-1 last night in the opener of a two-game interleague set between two division-leaders. The Nats are 7-1 in their last eight during Game 2 of a series and I like them to tie the score today.

Gio Gonzalez (7-9, 4.13) will take the ball for Washington. The left-hander is on a roll with six consecutive quality starts, and he was at his very best his last time out as he struck out seven through as many innings while limiting the Giants to one run on a pair of hits. He's 5-0 with a 1.07 ERA in eight career starts against the Indians and the current Tribe members are batting a combined .216 over 88 at bats against Gonzalez.

Cleveland turns to Josh Tomlin (11-4, 3.81 ERA) who was ripped for seven runs on nine hits through 4 2/3 innings of a 13-7 loss in the Bronx his last start. Tomlin is making his first career appearance against Washington, but he has struggled in previous meetings with Ben Revere (5-for-13) and Chris Heisey (4-for-8).

The Tribe will travel to LA for a four-game set with the Halos after this contest while the Nats will have a day off before hosting Atlanta over the weekend. Situational advantage Washington.
