This is an 8* TOTAL ASSASSIN on the OVER between the Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Houston Rockets are coming off their first loss of the season and I think will come out motivated here and try to take advantage of a Minnesota team that will be without the services of Ricky Rubio; suffice it to say, when the smoke does finally clear at the end of this one, I expect the total to eclipse the number as the game comes down the stretch. Note that this game is being played in Mexico City. Note that the Rockets were without the services of big man Dwight Howard in the loss to Golden State, but he's back in the lineup tonight: "Dwight's back and he went through the entire practice (Monday)," coach Kevin McHale said last night. One other player to keep your eyes on today is James Harden who is third in the league with 25.4 PPG, but who has averaged 29.3 while making 18 of 31 from behind the arc in his last four vs. the T-Wolves. Minnesota will also be anxious to return to the winners circle and to try and pull off an upset here after Saturday's 102-92 setback at Miami. Note that Houston has seen the total go OVER the number in six of its last ten when playing with three or more days of rest, while Minnesota has seen it sail above the number in four of its last seven vs. good defensive teams which allow 91 points or less. The situation, the numbers and the trends all point to the OVER as the savvy move in this one.
