This is an 8* TOP TOTAL on the UNDER between the Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks.
Both teams have gotten out to decent starts, I think they each come out a little flat here though and definitely feel we're getting great value on the UNDER. Dallas is 20-0 at home vs. Sacramento since 2003, the longest home winning streak in Mavs history vs. any opponent. I think the Kings are in line for a letdown here after suffering their first loss of the season in a 101-93 setback to Oklahoma City on Sunday; note that Sacramento trailed 56-39 in the third quarter. Despite the setback, note that the Kings remain among the top defensive teams in the league, limiting the opposition to a 42.0 percent shooting average. The home side will be extra motivated today though after allowing Miami to hit 55.3 percent in Sunday's 105-96 loss to open a four-game homestand. The Mavs have dropped two of three which prompted coach Rick Carlisle to say: "I'm concerned about how we're competing as a team," said Carlisle. "We just have a problem right now from top to bottom with consistency. When our level of competitiveness comes up to where it should be on a consistent basis, a lot of our problems will dissipate." Note that Sacramento has seen the total go UNDER the number in 17 of its last 27 as a road dog in the 6.5 to 9 points range, while Dallas has seen it dip below the number in both games that it's played this year vs. teams that average 99-plus points per contest. Look for this one to sneak UNDER the number once the final whistle sounds.
