This is an 8* TOTAL BLOCKBUSTER on the OVER between the Oakland Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks.
Seattle is coming off a much needed, albeit low-scoring 13-9 victory over Carolina last Sunday, moving the defending champions to 4-3. I picked the San Francisco 49ers to win the NFC West and they'll have to start stringing together some victories to make that prediction come true as the Arizona Cardinals now seem to be the class of the division. Seattle knew it would have a target on its back coming into this season: "We've been prepared all year that there would be stuff like this, there would be controversy, there would be storylines that would try to get in between us," said ‘Hawks coach Pete Carroll. "We're fine. That isn't the adversity." I think Seattle comes in focused here though, puts the pedal to the metal and doesn't let up until the final whistle sounds. Oakland though won't go down without a fight either, David Carr and company will be looking to take advantage of a Seahawks defensive unit with gives up an average of 316.1 YPG. The Raiders have actually been pretty competitive in thre games since they fired Dennis Allen, they led late in the fourth quarter of a 31-28 loss to San Diego and then were within eight points late the next week before falling 24-13 to the Cards. Last week a couple of late fumbles sealed the teams fate in the 23-13 setback in Cleveland. Note that Oakland has seen the total go OVER the number in 11 of its last 18 after two or more consecutive SU losses, while Seattle has seen it eclipse the number in eight of its last 11 non-conference games. In my opinion, all signs point to the OVER as the sharp move in this one.
