This is an 8* PITCHING MISMATCH on the LA Dodgers.
While it may not have been a mismatch at the start of the year, there is no question in my mind that this is one now, the oddsmakers are slow to reacting in just how well Roberto Hernandez is throwing right now and it's time to take full advantage. The visitors send Eric Stults (5-12, 4.64 ERA) to the hill; Stults is 1-9 with a poor 5.11 ERA in 14 road starts this year. Stults has been a bit better overall of late, but he's just 1-4 with a 3.96 ERA in six outings vs. his former team, including just 1-2 with a 3.70 ERA in four at Dodger Stadium. Note that the Dodgers have feasted on left-handed pitching this year, they're 20-10 in such instances thus far. LA sends Hernandez (7-8, 3.72 ERA) to the hill to make his third start since being acquired by Philadelphia back on August 7th, he most recently gave up one run over six frames in his team's 6-4 win over the Braves on Thursday. For the most part MLB handicapping is about the starting pitching, and that's what I'm concentrating on here, Hernandez has the advantage of throwing at home, in my opinion this line should be higher; play on the DODGERS.
