This is a 6* BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the Kansas City Royals.
The Royals are coming off a 3-2 victory yesterday and with a chance to clinch the series, I look for the home side to build off that effort and to find a way to get the job done at the end of the night. KC has to be liking its chances in facing confirmed gas can Kevin Correia (5-13, 5.06 ERA) who is 0-4 with a deplorable 7.08 ERA in four career starts at Kauffman stadium, most recently getting shelled for five runs over six frames in a 5-4 setback there back on April 19th. Note that Correia is 0-5 with a 4.91 ERA in nine career starts vs. Kansas City. The home side counters with Yordano Ventura (7-8, 3.63 ERA) who hasn't been at his best of late, he's posted a poor 6.75 ERA over his last three starts, however a little home cooking is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked as he's 3-2 with a very respectable 2.81 ERA in his last six games there. And that's bad news for the Twinkies who have averaged just 2.5 runs and batted a paltry .165 with runners in scoring position while dropping eight of their last 12 overall. Ventura gets the nod on the bump and that's enough to tip the scales in our favor; lay the price on KANSAS CITY.
