This is an 8* SITUATIONAL PITCHING MISMATCH on the LA Angels.
I like Garrett Richards and the visitors to bounce back on the road tonight. The Orioles have won four of their last five games and three of them have come in extra frames; suffice it to say, I think their "luck" runs out tonight. The visitors will be eager to atone for last night's 7-6, 10-inning setback, the loss snapping a three-game win skein. The Angels will be extra motivated here as well as they've lost eight of the last 11 in this series. The visitors have to be liking their chances to return to prominence with Richards (11-3, 2.62 ERA) on the hill; Richards had a seven-game win streak snapped on Thursday by giving up four runs off seven hits over six frames in a 6-4 loss to Detroit. It was a rare poor outing, note that Richards was 7-0 with a 1.25 ERA over his previous nine outings. The visitors counter with Kevin Gausman (4-3, 3.67 ERA) who scattered seven hits over 6 2/3's innings in his team's 2-1, 10-inning victory at Seattle on Friday. Gausman has been pretty solid this year, he's 3-2 with a pedestrian 4.33 ERA in five home starts, but I think will have his hands full with this hard-hitting, focused and determined Angels line-up. I'm going to give Richards the slight nod on the bump and that's just enough to tip the scales in our favor; play on the ANGELS.
