We like the Baltimore Orioles to defeat the Kansas City Royals for a number of reasons. Here are some of the important ones.

Baltimore comes into the playoffs having won three straight, as well as five of their last six games, while Kansas City have lost nine of their thirteen.

Kansas City doesn't have much playoff experience as this will be their first since winning the World Series back in 2015. Baltimore was in the ALDS last season as the top seed in the AL.

The Orioles have won eleven of the past fourteen meetings between these two teams (seven of the past eight at home.)

Corbin Burnes has an ERA of 2.84 in eight playoff appearances. Cole Ragans has never pitched in the playoffs.

The Royals hit just .236 during day games while the Orioles hit .265 during days games this season.

Home field advantage shouldn't be taken for granted in the playoffs. Baltimore will look to start strong here against KC after disappointing in October last season.
