These teams are separated by 17.5 games in the standings, thanks in part to the Dodgers sweeping the Giants in 4 straight games in their first series back from the break. The Dodgers went 25-7 in July, but their starting pitcher Andrew Heaney, has never faced San Francisco as a member of the Dodgers. Heaney is 1-0 with a 0.47 ERA in a small sample size for LA, but he's 1-2 with a 7.02 ERA in 3 career matchups with the Giants. LA could be fatigued here as well after winning 3 of 4 in Colorado and hopping on a plane Sunday night. And that should be music to Logan Webb's ears, who is 9-4 with a 2.91 ERA so far this year for the Giants. He gave up 4 runs over 7 innings in a road loss to Arizona on Wednesday, but when he faced the Dodgers most recently he allowed 1 run over 6 innings (overall Webb is 1-2 with a highly-respectable 3.28 ERA in 7 career outings vs. LA.) Look for the hungry Giants to, at the very least, earn the comfortable cover with the extra 1.5 runs of insurance!
