New Orleans is desperately trying to track down Memphis for 8th place in the Western Conference. They are one of three teams that is 3.5 games back of the Grizzlies for that last playoff opportunity. Two straight wins are nice, but it's games like tonight's that the Pelicans must win if they are to have any chance of catching Memphis. Of course, the same holds true for the opposition as Sacramento is one of the teams they are tied with. The Kings lost at home to Toronto on Sunday. While they still have a slightly better record than the Pelicans since the All Star Break, their scoring differential isn't quite as good. The Kings haven't beaten a team in current playoff position since February 22nd. While it was at home, New Orleans did beat Miami last Friday. While this may appear to be an even matchup tonight on ESPN, the Pelicans have been tremendous as road favorites so far, going 7-1 straight up and 6-1-1 against the spread. We're backing them.
