The Hornets did not mind bidding farewell to 2019 as they come into the New Year on a six-game losing streak. The Cavs are actually 4-2 straight up and against the spread their last six games, making this one of their most productive stretches of the season. But when looking over the recent results for these two squads, there is one thing that they have in common - some real low scoring efforts. Charlotte has not scored more than 107 in any of those six losses and three times has been held below 100. Cleveland is coming off two straight sub-100 point efforts (one was a win). You don't really see that very much in today's NBA and considering neither team is very good defensively, we're expecting some fireworks tonight. The Cavs are second to last in the league in defensive efficiency. The Hornets are fourth worst. This is a good chance to start over for Charlotte while Cleveland should get back to scoring more now that they're back home. Those two straight low-scoring efforts both were on the road.
