Off yesterday's 7-1 humbling defeat, the Cubs will be eager to return the favor on Tuesday night. The visitors go with Clay Buchholz (2-1, 2.56 ERA) who hasn't pitched since June 25th. Buchholz returns from the DL after the All Star break with impressive numbers, but we still think he'll have his hands full here with the revenge minded Cubbies as he tries to shake off the rust. The home side sends Kyle Hendricks (6-8, 3.99) to the hill and he most recently gave up three runs while striking out four over five innings in a no-decision to the Cardinals on Thursday. No beating around the bush, this has been Hendricks most difficult campaign of his career to this point, but the veteran has the track record and pedigree to return to form over the second half; note as well that he owns a very respectable 3.28 ERA at home this season. Additionally note that the Diamondbacks are just 15-27 (-14.4 units) against clubs with winning records this season. Consider laying the chalk in this one.
