We had a play on the Jays yesterday afternoon and they'd hold on for the 5-4 win. However we're expecting a classic letdown here as the team hits the road for a late night West Coast game after an extended stretch of excellence at home. The visitors go with Aaron Sanchez (3-5, 4.35 ERA) who gave up three runs off six hits over six innings in a no-decision to the Nationals on Friday. Sanchez has looked better of late, but note that he's still a pedestrian 3-3 with a 4.67 ERA on the road. Tyler Skaggs (6-4, 2.81) gets the nod for the home side and he most recently allowed two runs off seven hits over seven innings to go along with eight strikeouts in a victory over the A's on Friday. Skaggs has won three straight and has posted a 22:4 K:BB in that span. To go along with his sharp ERA, note that Skaggs also sports a great 1.23 WHIP and has 86 strikeouts over 80 innings of work. Note as well that Toronto is just 9-18 (-9.6 units) against left-handed starters this year, while LA is 33-23 (+7.4 units) against right-handed starters. All things considered, a great price we feel.
