This is a 10* NON-CONFERENCE TOTAL OF THE MONTH on the OVER between the Orlando Magic and the Houston Rockets.
Amazingly to us, the Houston Rockets have yet to play to an "OVER" this season, but we believe that streak ends tonight and look for the home side to carry the momentum over from its first win of the season last time out. Houston opened with three straight duds, but James Harden scored 37 points in a 110-105 victory over OKC on Monday: "I'm sure all great shooters go through droughts," said Harden afterwards. "Mine was pretty terrible, I admit. But it will change. It will all come around. It's a long season and I'll go on five, six, 10-game streaks where I'm just on fire and it will even itself out." We agree with Houston's sharp-shooter, lop-sided numbers and trends have a way of naturally "correcting" themselves (over the short, the mid and the long-term), and that's the case with our pick here. The Magic won't simply be rolling over though, they'll also be looking to build off yesterday's convincing 103-94 win at New Orleans, Nikola Vucevic had 22 points and 13 boards in the victory. One other player to keep your eyes on today is the Rockets' Dwight Howard, who has dominated his former team whenever facing it, posting 24.4 points and 14.8 rebounds. Note that Orlando has seen the total go OVER the number in 18 of its last 35 off an upset win as an underdog, while Houston has seen the total sail above the posted number in in 72 of its last 127 vs. good offensive teams which score 99-plus points per contest.
