This is a 10* EASTERN-CONFERENCE GAME OF THE WEEK on the UNDER between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Toronto Raptors.
We jumped on this line early and got 200.5 and it's since gone up by a couple points, but regardless, we love this selection as we look for these Eastern Conference rivals to battle hard and for this total to ultimately sneak below the posted number once the final horn blares. After a 2-0 start in which it's averaged 109.5 points, we're expecting a bit of a letdown from the home side offensively today. The Bucks will be playing with an added emphasis on the defensive end of the floor as they look to avoid their first 0-3 start to a season since dropping their first five back in 1976-77. Milwaukee finished in sixth place last year and limited opponents to 97.4 PPG, which was eighth best in the league: "We won't beat anybody giving up 120 points," said Bucks' center Greg Monroe last night "We have to be better at defense. That's it." "We have to take more pride in defense," coach Jason Kidd echoed. "We're trying to outscore people and it's affecting our defense. We're not getting stops when we have to, but it goes back to guarding the ball. We're not guarding the ball." This is a team which will be committed to a defensive scheme today. But not to be outdone, the Raptors have actually played very well defensively this year, holding Indiana and Boston to 37.4 percent shooting. The last time these clubs met, Milwaukee ended a six-game losing streak in the series with an 82-75 victory at Toronto back on February 2nd; we're expecting a similarly hard-fought, low-scoring contest today as well, all signs do indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move in this one.
