This is a 10* EAST-COAST TOTAL EXPRESS on the UNDER between the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers.
These are two teams which have played to the higher number a lot already this season, in fact Boston has yet to see a contest go UNDER the posted total at any point yet. We had the UNDER in Boston's 6-0 win over Arizona on Tuesday, a contest in which the B's scored two meaningless goals in the final two minutes of play. One thing we can say for sure though, Boston certainly looked better on the defensive end of the ice in that one, Tuukka Rask stopped 24 shots and the team killed off three penalties. Remember, even though the Bruins missed the playoffs last year, they were still eighth in the league by allowing an average of 2.45 goals per game. And a game vs. Florida is just what the doctor ordered for Rask as well as he posted a highly respectable 1.53 GAA in his first five games against it, before falling 4-2 in a loss back on April 9th. Following a poor 0-2-1 stretch, Florida comes into this one with plenty of momentum as well in winning two straight, most recently an impressive 4-1 victory over Colorado on Tuesday. The Panthers have looked particularly sharp on special teams, they killed off all five penalties in the win over the Avs. Note that Boston has in fact seen the total go UNDER the number in 29 of its last 56 after a win by two goals or more, while Florida has seen the total dip below the posted number in 14 of its last 22 when playing with two days of rest.
