AAA's 10* Friday Night "BIG TIGER!" (100% RUN ON LINE!)
(NCAAF) Louisiana Tech vs. Rice,
Total: 62.00 | -105.00 Over
Result: Win
Total: 62.00 | -105.00 Over
Result: Win
This is a 10* BIG TIGER on the UNDER between Louisiana Tech and Rice.
When the smoke clears at the end of this one, we look for this total to sneak below the posted number. This is a crucial league matchup, Louisiana Tech is 3-1 in conference, while Rice is 2-1. And it's precisely because this game is an important one that we feel we'll finally see these two normally high-scoring teams play to a lower-scoring "chess match" style of contest. These teams and Souther Miss are the main competitors for the C-USA West Crown and a spot in the Championship Game. Louisiana Tech QB Jeff Driskel is making 61.6 percent of his passes, but he'll face an Owls' unit which is allowing rival pivots to complete just 58.2 percent. Good news for Louisiana Tech though as RB Kenneth Dixon is now back after missing two games with injury, meaning we're going to see a heavy does of the ground game from the visitors. And speaking of the ground game, Rice has four different backs that have hit 100 yards this season and its 195 rushing yards per game is the most in the conference. That plays directly into the Bulldogs hands though as they own the Conference USA's top defense against the run, giving up just 98 yards per game, good enough for 11th in the country. And that certainly doesn't bode well for the Owls offense, as QB Driphus Jackson is solid, but nothing to worry about whatsoever in the passing game. These situational factors are all point to a lower scoring affair; also note that Louisiana Tech has in fact seen the total go UNDER the number in four of its last seven as a favorite in the 10.5 to 21 points range, while Rice has seen the total dip below the posted number in five of its last six vs. teams with winning records. Play on the UNDER.
